Why do you travel? What does it do for you? How is it good for you? Do you travel to escape? Do you travel to get together with your friends? What do you travel for? For some peace for the mind? To party? To escape? To explore? To learn? For work?
Why do I travel?
I have always wanted travel to be a part of my life for as long as I can remember. When I was seven I wanted to travel to space, when I was nine I wanted to travel to the deserts of Egypt and study archeology, when I was eleven, I wanted to be a world-touring DJ! (Yeah, I don’t even know.)

When I was fourteen, I was introduced to K-pop while it was still relatively new to the world and because of teenage fascination and obsession, I wanted to travel to South Korea and Japan. But the curiosity for travel had grown with me. Now, I wanted to travel for the history, for the food, for the culture and the festivals and the age old traditions.
In college, traveling became about partying; going to a nice place with friends, chilling out, doing absolutely nothing, partying and then back home. Once I started working, traveling was an excuse to escape my routine life, go somewhere to clear my thoughts and head back to boring old routine life and it felt like constantly bumping into a wall. And I didn’t like it one bit. It felt wrong, my insides felt jumbled. Clearly, I wasn’t doing what I wanted to do.

But at that point in my life, I didn’t know what I wanted to do. My head was muddled, I was confused, lost, kind of hopeless. And what did I do to feel better? I traveled. And that’s when I realized that this was my constant and this was what I wanted – no, needed to do. The need to roam and explore and discover was real. And constant, ironically.
I don’t know if I can ever word down what traveling means to me, or what it does to me, or how it improves me to the best version of myself. It’s a constant.

Why do you travel?
I believe anyone and everyone can and should travel as much as possible. You don’t need to have a burning passion for traveling but try to make it a part of your life. Take some time out in a year and go travel to some place. Something new will definitely come out of it: a new friend, a new vacation spot, a new party trick, a new life hack, a new perspective. it might be life changing. And travel, because it’s worth it. Any reason to travel is worth it.

Why do you travel?
Totally agree and believe everyone should travel.

ದೇಶ ಸುತ್ತು, ಕೋಶ ಓದು ಅಂತಾರೆ… Travel brings a freshness to the mind. Most of the time.. after continuous hectic work, would like to stretch my legs and relax.. typically in a Club Mahindra resort. I also have the habit of traveling at least twice a year. It gives life a different perspective.. . We are all so culturally different .. I have seen Bihu festival.. the rains of Sohra, to name a few.. although now it is constrained, may be in the next phase of life, would like to travel more..

I travel to experience a new place and it’s travel is like a cherry on the cake for me..where cake is life itself..

Haha! What an apt comparison. And the cake is never complete without the cherry 😀
